A Weekend in LA: April 2023

It’s bittersweet having attended college on the West Coast. On one hand, many of my close friends live far away, but on the other hand, this means I always have friends to visit! I decided to take a short pre-Step 2 studying mini weekend trip out to Los Angeles to visit one of my lifelong friends.

Food & Friends

No vacation is complete without an absurd amount of pastries and coffee. My friend is an absolute foodie and has never once let me down when it comes to introducing me to new foods and restaurants, and this trip was no different. Republique will forever go down as my favorite LA brunch stop, and the viral Erewhon buffalo cauliflower lives up to the hype.

Of course, no trip to LA is complete without Santa Monica Pier or Venice Beach, so of course I had to stop in at both. I was lucky enough to find a time to see my friend who is always traveling for work! All around great time.

The Getty Museum

I’ve never been to any museums in LA, so since it was such a nice weekend we decided to check out the Getty for a few hours. The views are absolutely incredible, and the gardens are too. Highly recommend to anyone visiting LA for the first time.

Overall, this trip was a much-needed reset before diving into the dedicated study period for Step 2 after finishing my last M3 core clerkship. Nothing helps hit the reset button like seeing your best friends.
